Tensions are simmering in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare as reports of police defy orders from their superiors amid indications they are planning to join the planned August 10 protesters, Harare Live can report.

This was revealed by exiled ex-Zimbabwe Minister Prof Jonathan Moyo posting on Twitter saying police have had ‘enough’ in Bulilamamangwe District in Plumtree;

POLICE OFFICERS SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH: As the attached instructive account from Plumtree demonstrates, increasingly, some @PoliceZimbabwe officers on the ground are fed up and are now openly siding with the public and supporting protests!

In a series of screenshots, Jonathan Moyo’s camp is indicative of anarchy within the ranks as police officers haven’t been spared from tough economic conditions exacerbated by covid-19 complications.

Harare Live is awaiting confirmation from police.
